Ka Hale A Ke Ola & Na Hale O Waine'eKa Hale A Ke Ola began sheltering the homeless in 1986, utilizing an old church building in Puunene as a shelter. Since 1993, the program has been housed on a five-acre site in Wailuku. Na Hale O Waine'e, our newest facility located in Lahaina was built through a partnership of the State of Hawaii, County of Maui, the Weinberg Foundation and other funding sources.
Ka Hale A Ke Ola and Na Hale O Waine'e provides basic services under one roof, linking with over 50 human service agencies to provide for the clients’ needs, such as medical, mental health, vocational rehabilitation, and financial services.
Clients enter the program through Intake Services, are assessed and are housed if administration criteria are met, and as beds are available. Within six weeks, a client may become qualified for long-term Transitional Program.
